The Exhibition

My focus on transition explores its ephemeral quality, as it exists beyond and between images that may be bound by cultural interpretations. This body of work explores transition as a dimension of contemplation, expressed as a tight focused line of an edge or a board space that lingers. A shift occurs between what is figure and what is ground, what is tangible and what is intangible?

The Artists statement for the exhibition:

This exhibition is part of my PhD, investigating the governance of shared cultural and natural landscapes, when managed jointly between cultures as a single integrated environment.

The principle aspect of the research is consideration of the relationship of intangible and tangible heritage and how its linked interpretation, can contribute to cultural diversity, sustainable development and conservation.

My research questions and moves beyond the concept of Wilderness in order to acknowledge people as a fundamental, integrated component for sustainable environments.

As part of my investigation I am producing a series of exhibitions that investigate the shared space of transition. My focus on transition explores its ephemeral quality, as it exists beyond and between images that may be bound by cultural interpretations.
